| Comment: I was in USAF stationed at Cape Liz from 04/1970 through o4/1971. Don't remember the White Alice guys names, but I do remember they were a crazy bunch. Loved all the pictures of Cape Liz. Saw one earlier this month in National Geographic. Thanks for keeping this all together. | |

Comment: 1968- 1969, I was there! Campion (outside Galena AFB) briefly at Kalakaket Creek (sp?)
and Boswell Bay (Hinchenbrook Island) near Cordova. Sure brings back a lot of memories. Must find my photo collection before it turns to dust. Thanks! Email address contains deliberate error: Replace _ with -.

| Comment: Hunted Ptarmigan on White Alice, Adak in '86. The reflectors were torn down, but the building and many nuts/bolts remained - I still have a couple for memories. Always wondered what the site looked like while operating, and have now seen the pictures on this site - having done 3 yrs on Adak, it's fascinating! Didn't know it was civilian-run | |

| Comment: I'm a project manager for the FAA engaged in a multi-agency cleanup of the former military base and airport on Annette Island, Alaska. The former Smugglers Cove WACS is one of the sites. Apparantly the WACS contains a "spirit" by the name of Brian Edward Callahan. Brian may have either been an electrian for RCA, Air Force, or USCG during the time of the late 1960's or early 1970's. Does anyone know Brian? | |

| Comment: Fantastic Site! As a high school student in Aniak I spent my afternoons learning electronics from David Norr, the Aniak WACS lead in 1979. He helped me earn my 1st class lic. at 16. After high school, I worked on a demo team to tear down the WACS (no pictures, sorry). The site was purchased by the school district and turned into a vocational school. As a teenager, going out to white alice was very cool. We used to climb the towers, it was like being on top of the world. Scott | |

Comment: USAF AC&W "scope dope" stationed at the 705th AC&W Squadron King Salmon, Alaska (Nak Nek) from
10/57 to 10/58. Originally being from the Ohio Lake Erie area I was well suited for the Alaskan winter but not the obnoxious misquitoes and nats - uggh!!! I really enjoyed the year of duty except for the town of Nak Nek being off-limits. Learned a lot from the White Alice and radar technicians, almost like a four-year Engineering education. Other than the photos contained on this web site,

| Comment: White Alice Site Tech on Adak from Sept '66 to Oct '67, Site Manager was Vern De Priest, techs were Tom Horsman, Jerry Swanson, and am embarrassed to say that I can't remember names of other two. Was DEW/BMEWS from 1979 to 1987 out of Colorado Springs. My father by same name was ACS from 1940 to 1958, all in Southeastern AK. Granfather, (Fred Weber) was ACS from 1936 to 1956. Guess its in the genes! | |
